Giant Schnauzers have a wiry coat, which is relatively easy to groom. However, the undercoat may get matted. A short wire brush will help prevent the coat from matting. Giant Schnauzers are normally clipped all over to an even length twice a year. Show dogs may be stripped. The area around the eyes and ears should be trimmed. Clean the dog's whiskers after meals. Giant Schnauzers shed little to no hair.
